Chances are, you have either a stainless
steel sink, or stainless steel cookware. If you do, you definitely need
to know
how to clean stainless steel.
For stainless steel cookware, all you need
is warm water, a mild dish detergent, and a soft cloth or sponge. If
food is stuck on the pot or pan, fill the sink with warm, soapy water,
and soak the piece over night.
After soaking, drain the sink, and run
some clean, warm, soapy water. Use the soft cloth or sponge and rub the
stainless steel in the direction of the finish. Avoid circular motion
or moving across the grain.
Rinse well, and dry with a clean, soft
cloth. If you don’t have a mild dish soap available, you can
achieve the same results with a few tablespoons of ammonia in a sink
full of warm (not hot) water.
If this cleaning method (combined with a
good amount of elbow grease) doesn’t eliminate a stain, move
to a mild abrasive cleaner. Your last resort after this is a stronger
abrasive cleaner, such as Ajax or Comet.
This method is very similar as how to clean
stainless steel sinks. In fact, it’s practically identical.
Fill the sink with water, and add a little ammonia. Stir it up and let
it sit all night.
Drain, and rinse VERY well. Make sure there
are no
traces of ammonia residue. While you’re at it, use a little
of the ammonia/water solution on a clean, soft cloth to clean the
faucet fixture. Once the sink is cleaned out, if it is still dull,
sprinkle a little comet over the surface and scrub lightly with a
sponge. Rinse very well, and you’ll be pleased with the
results.
To keep your sink shiny and clean over the
long term, after
you finish a load of dishes every couple of days, spray the sink with
window cleaner and wipe it down well with a clean dish towel. Keeping
your sink shiny like this makes the whole kitchen feel cleaner.
If you have other items made of stainless,
do your research into how to clean stainless steel items of that kind,
to make sure you don’t do any damage.

Quick Tip #1 -
Take it one Room at a Time
If
your house is a mess don't feel overwhelmed. Take it one room at a
time and don't concentrate on anything else until that room is done.
Start with the room that is bothering you the most, like the kitchen or
